The Dowager's are from the Haven. This family goes back to the Eyton Dowagers bred by Craig Tanner. Great sires such as Vron Gaffer (Bull of the year 1956), Haven Showman (Reserve Bull of the Year 1963) and Havenfield Eclipse (Bull of the Year 1964) are all present in this line.  The females have always been big strong cows with plenty of milk and as one astute observer once said; "they cover a lot of ground when the sun is overhead". The family was very successful for the Chamberlain's and bred then a Reserve Supreme Champion at Tenbury with Beltring Ezzard Charles in 1991, and have also done well for Richard Mann.
